My therapy style
- I provide a safe, non-judgemental space so people can speak without fear during assessment and treatment. My work is done in partnership with clients within a trusting therapeutic relationship to understand the factors underlying their distress with the aim to achieve their desired goals. When working with children, I often find that the involvement of parents, schools and families in the treatment is vital to positive outcomes. I draw on a range of evidence based therapies depending upon each individual's circumstances. These include: Supportive psychotherapy for adults and adolescents, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and Play Therapy.
